The Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship is a non-profit institution based in Geneva which champions contemporary craftspeople worldwide with the aim of promoting a more human, inclusive and sustainable future. The foundation seeks to highlight the connections between craft, the wider arts and the design world. Its mission is to both celebrate and preserve craftsmanship and its diversity of makers, materials and techniques, by increasing craft's everyday recognition and its viability as a professional path for the next generations. From engaging educational to its signature digital project the Homo Faber Guide and international exhibition the Homo Faber Event, the foundation is fostering a cultural movement centred on master artisans.
Position summary
- The Junior Graphic Designer will be part of the Communication Department.
- The role requires a creative talent focused on graphic design, print production and digital adaptations.
- The mission is to ensure consistency throughout a large variety of assets, printed and digital, from corporate communications to event promotions.
Responsibilities
- Brand codes and visual identity
- Ensure visual guidelines are respected and updated.
- Create and adapt visual assets following the visual identity and codes (i.e., logos, fonts, colours)
- Ongoing competitor benchmark and knowledge of industry best-practices.
Creative developments and print execution:
- Create or adapt concept and design for all communication materials including:
- Print materials: ex. leaflets and catalogues
- Signages for events
- Advertising materials: billboards, print and web ads
- Merchandising
- Digital : newsletters, social media, web banners.
Assist on artistic directions for visuals assets (photos)
- Preparation of moodboard for photo shootings
- Support on editing pictures and archiving in visual database system
Our ideal candidate skills and approach
- Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design
- Interest in Arts and design
- Good understanding of print production, advertising, and digital practices.
- Attention to detail
- Curious and open-minded individual, up to date on latest creative trends
- Adaptable and collaborative individual, well organized
- Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro etc.)
- Computer proficient with MS Office
- Fluent in English, French, Italian is an asset
- Video editing capabilities is a plus
