Job Overview:

The Principal SalesConsultant will be responsible for supporting the Oracle Banking ApplicationSales Representatives in the European countries from both a functional,solution and commercial perspective in the financial services and bankingindustries. The candidate will be responsible for leading the functionaldiscovery sessions and product demonstrations of the lending and leasing systemthroughout sales cycle, plus assist the sales and technical staff in thedevelopment of a solution design to meet the business requirements of thecustomer.

  • Play an integral role in the sales process utilizing knowledge of the lending and leasing product and its capabilities to assist sales executives in addressing client/prospect requirements.
  • Set-up, configure and deliver the appropriate product presentations/demonstrations to meet client/prospect business requirements, either in person or via web-based tools.
  • Drive solution assurance process on behalf of sales executives to obtain client/prospect requirements, identify and prioritize functionality gaps, initiate request-source process to obtain estimates to address functionality gaps or define appropriate workarounds, and gather all necessary information for internal suppliers to commit to performing the conversion.
  • Participate in business requirements discovery sessions with client/prospect.
  • Assist sales team with the creation and packaging of proposals.
  • Drive cross-LOB opportunities and work with the other LOBs in order to provide the best possible solution and proposal for a client's requirements.
  • Provide input to appropriate sections of Requests for Proposal (RFP) and Requests for Information (RFI) from prospects.
  • Create and maintain opportunity-specific product presentations and collateral.
  • Participate in the product release process, including providing feedback on client/prospect requirements to lending and leasing product manager on regularly scheduled basis.
  • Interact with vendors, consultants and other organizations where appropriate to evaluate third-party vendor opportunities and solutions.
  • Understand current business/industry environment (financial services, consumer finance and banking), including relevant regulations, business drivers and evolving business needs.
  • Develop and present proposals for business review and approval.
  • Other related duties assigned as needed.
Desirable qualifications, experience, knowledge:
  • 10+ years proven track record in providing solutions to the conventional financial services, capital markets or banking sector in UK or Europe.
  • Functional domain experience with product vendors, system Integrators or banks on consumer finance lending applications, like SAP, ALFA, White Clarke, Fiserv or FIS, or similar vendor applications.
  • Previous experience with consumer finance and banking operations is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of consumer and small business finance fundamentals, retail banking products life cycle, accounting and front-office &back-office operations.
  • Relationship management experience with corporate customers, either in a presales or delivery role (e.g. as a consultant or project manager).
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship building skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to understand and document business requirements.
  • Fluent English, fluency in one other European language (French / German / Italian) preferred.
  • Must be willing to travel (>50%).
  • Must be authorized to work within the European Union.
