Your day-to-day

As a Product Safety Assessment Leader, you will work in the Smoke-Free Product (SFP) Product Safety team and be responsible for performing toxicological risk assessment of products within PMI Life Science portfolio. You will provide scientific expertise in general and regulatory toxicology, risk assessment, physiologically based pharmacokinetics, and molecular and cellular toxicology.

More specifically, you will

• Act as a Subject Matter Expert for the conduct of toxicological risk assessment of materials & ingredients and to conduct nonclinical toxicological evaluation of our SFP portfolio.
• Work proactively with cross-functional teams to develop nonclinical assessment plans by proposing, designing, and delegating nonclinical testing strategies in line with regulatory and quality requirements.
• Collect, analyze, and critically evaluate nonclinical toxicological studies and aerosol chemistry data.
• Prepare toxicological risk assessment reports and narratives for regulatory submission documents.
• Contribute to and support Life Science project teams in topics related to nonclinical studies and toxicology.
• Contribute to advance the 21st-Century Toxicology Initiative to support PMI's product assessment evolution.

Who we are looking for

• PhD degree in Toxicology (or related field)
• In the process of acquiring and/or maintaining certification as a registered toxicologist (DABT and/or ERT)
• Demonstrated experience in toxicology (in industry is preferred) and risk assessment
• Strong written and spoken English is a must
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment, as well as in a team while still having a strong aim to push forward
• Experience with development and/or application of NAMs (including alternative in vitro methodologies and in silico tools); or (ii) working knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) principles are additional advantages.
