Your mission :
The aim of the EPFL Blue Brain Project (BBP), a Swiss brain research initiative founded and directed by Professor Henry Markram, is to establish simulation neuroscience as a complementary approach alongside experimental, theoretical and clinical neuroscience to understanding the brain, by building the world's first biologically detailed digital reconstructions and simulations of the mouse brain.

- 1200+ physical (Linux) servers (our HPC cluster)
- 4PB NetApp and 8PB storage systems (NetApp and GridScaler)
- OpenStack, Kubernetes
- Puppet, GitLab, Foreman, Rundeck, Grafana, Logstash, Prometheus
- Jira, Confluence etc
- … as well as with cloud-based solutions like Slack, GitHub etc.

The must-haves for this position are:
The must-haves for this position are:
- At least 3 years of recent IT engineering experience in IT service production
- Experience about configuration management (such as Puppet), provisioning tools and CI
- Good understanding of Linux in server environments
- Experience in both Programming and scripting (preferably Python, shell)
- Experience in dealing with monitoring systems
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (HTTPS, DNS, TCP/IP & load balancing).
- Cloud and container platforms (OpenStack, Kubernetes)
- Large-scale compute clusters & high speed fabrics
- Storage systems
- AWS, Terraform knowledge
- A team-player mindset and a friendly, helping attitude towards colleagues
- Attention to detail e.g. while documenting the work (JIRA, wiki, merge requests)
- Dislike for cutting corners
- Good communication skills in English (written and spoken)
