Our client, an internationally renowned FMCG company is currently looking for a Strategic Transportation Buyer (m/f/d) available immediately for Zurich City, to join an international team, ideally to start immediately for a permanent assignment.

The Strategic Transportation Buyer (m/f/d) will be responsible to oversee complex RFQs and participates in strategic projects concerning sourcing and logistics. In this role the selected candidate must interact across various levels, ranging from operations to management, by carrying out the following task areas:

• Engages with external logistics providers through contractual agreements.
• Creates and manages tender processes within the categories, by engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
• Gathers information, conducts market studies, establishes terms and conditions, leads negotiations, and finalizes contracts.
• Oversee vendor relationships, monitor market trends, and stays up to date.
• Contributes insights and proficiency to enhancement and innovation initiatives (assessment of operational reach, sourcing decisions, cost-effectiveness, etc.).
• Implements optimal methodologies, as well as best practices.
• Manages projects within area of responsibilities.

In order to be considered for the role, the selected candidate must have:

• Successfully completed bachelor's degree in business administration or supply chain
• Minimum 5 years of working experience within the same field or within indirect procurement.
• Desired experience and understanding of global FMCG market. Preferred experience working with an integrated enterprise level planning system SAP.
• Strong analytical skills and general IT affinity to oversee cost analysis, budgeting and generating reports.
• Fluency in English, orally and written.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Good listening skills, understanding requirements and a crisp understanding for urgency is important.
• Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks at one time and meet deadlines.
• Occasional travel may be necessary for this role.
