  1. Lead efforts to bolster the public and internal prominence of key figures within the international organization, notably the Director General (DG), by orchestrating targeted communication strategies. These initiatives encompass the development and dissemination of various media outputs tailored for both internal and external audiences. These outputs may include:
  • Formulating an annual communications plan for the Director General's office (DGO).
  • Issuing official statements on behalf of the DG.
  • Delivering periodic messages from the DG to the extensive network of the organization's member organizations.
  • Publishing articles and participating in interviews under the DG's auspices in reputable journals, press outlets, books, or newsletters.
  • Crafting forewords, quotes, and social media content attributed to the DG.
  • Producing concise video content.
  • Coordinating speeches delivered by the DG at prominent public events, such as webinars with substantial viewership.
  • Organizing town hall meetings for the vast Secretariat staff, entailing meticulous agenda planning, technological logistics setup, speaker facilitation, and event management.
  • Issuing written communications to all organization personnel, whether through organization-wide emails, DG messages in internal newsletters, or Executive Board meeting minutes.
  • Assessing and managing incoming invitations addressed to the Director General that entail public representation, involving speech delivery, media engagements, or content creation requests, and overseeing the DGO team's coordination in analyzing and preparing for each engagement.
  • Drafting institutional and statutory reports as needed.
  1. Spearhead the logistical arrangements and substantive content planning for the Director General's overseas missions. This responsibility encompasses:
  • Providing guidance to executive assistants within the DGO concerning the formulation of mission agendas.
  • Selecting and organizing bilateral meetings and events for the DG, in collaboration with colleagues across various organization offices and units, to advance institutional priorities.
  • Coordinating with different units and offices to ensure timely provision of necessary materials for the DG's engagements, including drafting initial content, setting timelines, and conducting quality assurance checks on final products.
  • Accompanying the DG on missions when appropriate, ensuring seamless support.
  • Ensuring diligent adherence to follow-up actions post-mission.
  1. Oversee the effective implementation of regional strategic planning and program management within the international organization. This role encompasses:
  • Collaboratively drafting, editing, and finalizing policies, procedures, and guidelines with broad-ranging impact across the organization.
  • Leading the organization of strategic workshops for Regional Directors.
  • Supervising the preparation and quality assurance of pertinent internal reports, such as regional quarterly assessments.

Description du profil

Education & experience
* University degree in social sciences, literature, history, political science, international relations, economics, development or other related fields.
* At least 5 years' experience in the field of nature conservation/environmental sustainability, with a proven track record in working under pressure, coordinating dynamic workflows and tight deadlines across multiple teams and geographies to deliver high quality outputs in a timely manner.

* Competencies
* Strong written and verbal English language skills is a must (at the level of a professional communications officer).
* Impeccable writing, editing, grammatical, organisational and research skills.
* Demonstrated experience working with teams diverse in gender, nationality and background to achieve business results, with a proven ability to handle politically and culturally sensitive issues.
* Strong track record working in an international organisation with teams spread across geographical offices.
